A single measurement only describes part of the connection. For a workday using a smartphone hotspot, what matters is whether the entire process works at the actual workstation: on the laptop being used, with the company VPN, video conferencing, screen sharing, and the programs that are simultaneously transferring data.

4) Make a real test call
A short test call is more informative than the connection preview in the conference software. Ideally, a second person should participate using a different internet connection. Two devices on the same hotspot create additional load and are better suited for stress testing.
Turn on your camera and microphone, share your screen briefly, and open a cloud document at the same time. Don't just focus on the image:
Is the audio clear, or are some words missing?
Does the image freeze repeatedly?

Also, check which devices are connected to the hotspot. A laptop creates a different load than two computers, a tablet, and backups running simultaneously. Green, yellow or red: How to make the decision
Green – suitable for the intended task: Repeated measurements show similar results. The actual test call with camera and screen sharing runs without any noticeable dropouts. Data reserves and power supply are sufficient, and a fallback is in place for a critical appointment.
Yellow – adjustments needed: The values fluctuate significantly, or a brief dropout occurs during the test call. The upload speed is close to the requirements of the platform being used, background synchronizations are straining the connection, or there is no independent backup connection. In this case, you can pause unnecessary synchronizations, reduce the video quality, test USB tethering, or prepare a second connection.
Red – don't rely solely on this: The test call repeatedly stutters, the connection drops, tethering is not allowed, or the data package is already throttled. An important appointment without power and no available backup connection also falls into this category.
The traffic light indicator always evaluates the specific task. A red result for a multi-hour workshop does not preclude the same connection being sufficient for emails or accessing a locally stored document.
A backup is only helpful if it's independent
