Saily eSIM: Your Complete Guide to Mobile Internet Worldwide
What is Saily?
Saily is a digital SIM card (eSIM) for your smartphone. The big advantage: You no longer have to swap out a physical card. You simply install a profile via the app and you’re online as soon as you land.
I’ve now tested Saily in 9 countries—from Thailand to Portugal. Here, I’ll show you which plans are really worth it and where the hidden limitations lie.
Saily in Practice: How I Use the eSIM Around the World
I have put Saily to a real endurance test in over 9 countries worldwide – from Thailand and Vietnam to Italy, Spain, and Portugal. On this page, you won't find any marketing fluff, but rather my honest experiences and practical tips.
My goal is simple: I will show you how to avoid activation errors so that you can be online stress-free immediately after landing.

Hotspot Stress Test:
Two MacBooks running continuously at the same time. Saily delivers consistent speeds for my mobile office, with no connection drops at all.

My backup plan:
If the café Wi-Fi in Bangkok goes down, Saily takes over. Perfect for coworking and demanding tasks in Southeast Asia.

Online lecture:
Stable enough for HD video calls. My online lecture streamed directly from my hotel room in Mallorca with crystal-clear picture quality and no lag.
Ultra-fast 5G connection
Saily partners with the best providers worldwide. You can enjoy high-speed internet almost anywhere, whether you're in the city or at the beach.
Easy installation
You can easily set it up using the app while you're still at home on the couch. Just scan or tap once, and the profile will be saved on your smartphone. --> Installation instructions
Active immediately after landing
As soon as you turn off Airplane Mode after landing, the eSIM will automatically connect to the best local network. You’ll have instant internet access for Maps, Uber, Grab, and more.
Long-term stays
If you're staying in the same country for more than two months, Saily usually becomes too expensive. In that case, it's worth checking with a local provider to sign up for a contract that can be canceled monthly or a prepaid plan.
Local phone number required
Saily offers data-only plans. If you absolutely need a local phone number (e.g., for government agencies, bank accounts, or SMS verification while abroad), a data-only eSIM won’t be enough.
Hardware compatibility
Your smartphone must be eSIM-compatible. Older models do not yet support this technology. Before you buy, check my guides to see if your device is compatible with Saily to avoid making a mistake.
