Anyway, i encountered this video of a credit card scam in TechEblog. This video is just a demonstration but done to people who aren't aware about it. Hi all, just want you all to know, i am currently having exams, and the exam period will last from 6th of February till 8th of March, i know it is damn long, but it wasn't me who made the crazy exam timetable. Anyway, since this is the case, you should expect very little post from me. Sorry mates, i have a real life too, and right now, it all depends on these exams. OK,i am over exaggerating it :) , but i need to take a little break, or else i won't be able to concentrate much on my exam. Plus. during this exam times, i tend to go a bit off the hook, kinda loose a bit of my mind, not sure why though, but it keeps happening every time i have exams. You don't want to read posts from a crazy guy, don't you?? :D Finally, please wish me luck, cause i really need a lot of it.

Right now, with Windows Vista has finally been released to the public, people are getting more and more eager to know how does this bloody bugger actually looks like :) . My Most Anticipated Movie Of 2007 - 300

Yes, the movie is called 300 and it will be released some time in March 2007 ( official date is 09.03.2007 ). Just a short summary, the movie is based on the graphic novel from Frank Miller titled, as you may have guessed, 300. The story is basically about Persia (Xerxes) trying to colonise/invade/enslave (call what ever you want, means the same, i think) Sparta , but the Spartans, with all their pride, prefer to live and die as free men. So, long story cut short, one million Persian Empire army went to Sparta to conquer it and the only thing standing between them and Sparta are the 300 Spartan soldiers (there are other soldiers from other parts of ancient Greece, but this is not a story about them, is it not?) - and battle began,between the one million Persian Empire army and the 300 fine Spartan soldiers...OK,i need to stop. You know i can go on and tell you the whole story, but then, it won't be a summary if i did :) Anyway, below here is one of the trailers from the movie 300, watch it, and if you like, there are more:

what do you think? ain't the movie fascinating? The graphics, the story line, everything is just perfect. If you can't stand yourself, and need to know how the story ends, go and look for the graphic novel 300 from Frank Miller, if you are smart and lucky enough, you might just find it :). Just as an additional info, the battle really did happen,it is called The Battle of Thermopylae , and it was a battle between 300 Spartans (and other soldiers) against more than 2 million Persian Empire army, click on this link: Battle of Thermopylae , to read more about the battle. I really can't wait to watch this movie when it makes it's debut in the theaters p/s: if you are fond of the song in the trailers, it is from Nine Inch Nails, a brilliant band, and the song is called Just Like You Imagined

Steve Jobs' Keynote Speech

Well, it was just yesterday i posted about the keynote speech made by Bill Gates, and today we have the keynote speech of Steve Jobs from Apple. In the keynote speech, as some of you may have already known by now, Steve Jobs has introduced two new products from Apple, Apple TV and iPhone. Comparing those two new products, iPhone was definitely the brighter star, it is a revolutionary by its own, and as Steve has said in his speech - they have reinvented the phone. For you guys who has never heard of the company Apple and their products, let me make a short intro of them. First of all, they are the biggest pain in ass for Microsoft (another way of saying a rival). Next, they make both of the hardware and software for their products. Lastly, example of their products are as - iPod,Mac,OS X,Macbook,Aperture and starting from yesterday, iPhone and Apple TV (they make plenty other more, i just wanna make it short :) ) To view the keynote speech, please click on this link: Steve Jobs' Keynote Speech . Every year, Bill Gates gives a keynote speech of what to be expected from Microsoft, about their latest and upcoming softwares and hardwares. So, for this year, Bill Gates (and his underlings) has explained, in his latest keynote speech, about the direction that Microsoft are planning to venture on. He touches a lot about connectivity, entertainment, games,work,performance and etc. Personally, from this keynote speech, i feel that Microsoft is finally moving in the right direction, giving what the users want (but still, some of the topics mentioned are a bit off the boundaries of an average user, such as screen projection and etc) To view the keynote speech from Bill Gates, please click on this link: Bill Gates' Speech . Upgraded To Serendipity 1.1

Serendipity 1.1 was released on the 23rd December 2006, with a few cool new features and fixes. I have tested it on my offline server and it was really awesome, so i decided to upgrade Technovice.net immediately to Serendipity 1.1 . After approximately 1 hour uploading the updates ( usually it would take much less that this, but one of my colleagues was leeching the hell off the network ) , everything seems to look good. I have to give it to Garvin and his team, upgrading Serendipity couldn't be any easier - seems like nothing much happened in the user end, but from the back end, there's a lot of things have changed, but none of the blog's functionality was compromised - really cool. A couple of the new features that i really dig are: Drag 'n Drop Plugin Management One thing you guys need to know, Technovice.net uses damn a lot of plugins. Since that is the case, in the old days, everytime i add a new sidebar plugin, i need to move it to position one click at a time, this was just time consuming (not that much, but i am a lazy pig). But now, with drag 'n drop feature, i just drag the plugin directly to the position that i desire - sometimes i just do it because it looks really cool. More Flexible Templating Serendipity uses Smarty templating for it's templates, it is almost like php, but much simpler. But for some people, especially the ones that just migrated from other blogging software, they don't wanna waste time learning Smarty. So, in Serendipity 1.1, these kind of guys can use the good old php to make the templates. Other than that, Serendipity 1.1 also allows theme developers to make more complex themes, themes with functions. Its kinda hard for me to elaborate more on this, but what i do know, from now on, you may expect themes that have more than just left and right sidebars - the position of the sidebars has been made more flexible. There are more new cool features in Serendipity 1.1, but these two are my favorites, with only these two makes it worth all the effort to upgrade (which actually don't cost too much of an effort :-) ). So, if you are a Serendipity user, i really urge you too upgrade as well, simply because it is cool :-P

Can't believe that it is already 2007 , it felt like i just landed on Germany a few weeks back ( i arrived in Germany in January 2006 ) , damn, time sure does fly by fast. Anyway, enough of crap about me, i just wanna take this opportunity (of having my own space in the www :-) ) to wish you guys a happy new year. I just could hope that you will have a more prosperous and successful year ahead - but you really need to have a good new year resolution in the first place :-P p/s: at the time of this writing, it has already passed midnight of 31 December 2006 - so, it is practically already New Year here :-)

No More Images With Adsense

I just wanna share about this info. Google doesn't allow publishers to put images together with the Adsense ads. The main reason (i think) is to profit the Adword advertisers. I can't blame them for this action. If i were an Adword advertiser, i too want some targeted clicks on my ads, not clicks influenced by external factors (in this case, the images). But honestly, this will cause a drop in my adsense income, if it wasn't because Google has forbid this method from being used anymore, i wouldn't took the images down - waa sad :( Anyway, for those you wanna read more about this new rule implemented by Google, please click on this link: Inside Adsense Blog

Weird Message At Apple's Web

Today i have something really interesting to share, i am not sure someone else have posted about this in their blog, but what i am about to write inspired by my own experience. Anyway, it is about a message from the Apple website that i received while surfing their site. I was just looking around for stuffs when suddenly this message appear. wtf . No, really , i wasn't swearing, that was the message that i got. and below is the full preview of the wtf window within the web, you have to click on it to view in full size : After i got the message, i was stunned for a moment. What the hell! what did i do?? wtf translate into only one phrase to me, no other. In case you are really, i mean really really innocent and don't know the meaning of wtf, then please on this link to view the meaning of the acronym given by the Dictionary.com: Definition Of wtf I am not sure if this definition, which was given by the Dictionary.com, is what the developer of the Apple's web had in mind. So, i went looking even deeper, and got a list of other possible meaning: The Other List. Well, none of the other meanings made sense to me (actually i don't wanna accept them), i will stick to wtf translated by Dictionary.com. Anyway, i have tested clicking on the same button again and again, still it gave me the same result, wtf. How nice :)

I have mentioned this in my previous post, but 24 hours later , the voices in me told that i really need to make another, additional post about this. It is totally simple, the bookmarkbase developers have offered me a 10% discount coupon for me to give away to one of my visitors - quoting from my own statement (so lame of me):

.....so after some intense meditation, i have come up with this stupid idea, just contact me using the contact form and tell me that you want the coupon, that's all. Technovice.net Is Back

Hi all, i am not sure how many of you guys are still left (my faithful readers). Today i have successfully shifted technovice.net to a new server, which the hosting claims to be more stable than the previous one, well i hope so. As you guys may have noticed, my blog was dead for almost two weeks, it was totally out of my control, all i could do is watch one by one of my blog's opportunity gone to the drain. The offer from a magazine company for free subscription to all technovice.net visitors - gone , joining 9rules - you can forget bout that!!! (i think i am not qualified even before the blog was dead :) ) , 5k mark visitor target for December - maybe for January. But, at least i still have a discount coupon to give away, i will write about it soon, as soon as all the recovering process ends. This blog has still a lot of datas to be recovered, it hasn't fully healed. I will still be working on it, but mean while, i will leave the blog open for public, in case you guys have some articles that you want to read or tutorials that you would like view. Lastly, to all that are still subcribing to my feed, thanks, that is all i can say. I can't believe after 2 weeks of shit, you guys are still faithful, i must be really lucky, thanks again.

Damn Slow Loading Time

If you have visited my blog today, you may have noticed that my blog took a really long time to load. This is really unusual, even if you are using dial up, the loading time for today was unbelievably slow. I doubt that the reason for the extra slow loading time was because of my blog, i suspect it is caused by some technical problem with my hosting provider. It's really a nuisance to have such problems, plus it is a bit embarrassing to the new visitors, who will definitely miss judge my blog. Damn, i really need to consider changing to a different hosting provider, one which has a better service reputation. Damn!!
