France - Day 7 till Final

Day 7

This was a really sad day, i had to go back to Paris, only if knew that Cannes was so cool, i would have booked the hotel for more days, well, again, there is still next summer, :-).

After Cannes, it took me 5 hours of boring trip in TGV to reach Paris,by the time i arrived, it is already noon, so i had lunch and went straight away to The Notre Dame Cathedral. The building look something like this:

Next was the Infamous Eiffel Tower, i was lucky this time, good timing, just at the right time when the tower looked the best, at least that is what i think.

Right after Eiffel Tower, the next victim was the Louvre Pyramid, it was truly a beautiful sight to see the pyramid to glow during the night and the sky was red, just perfect, if i just had a tripod or a robot-steady-hand, i could take some better pictures.

The day was short and ended early,i had my dinner at McD and went straight to the bed.

End of Day 7

Day 8

It was Merdeka Day today but there weren't much planned to celebrate it, i wasn't in Malaysia after all, anyway after the late breakfast, i went to the Eiffel Tower again to have a view of Paris from the tower's peak. Well, as normal, it just looked the same but smaller. But one thing for sure, this tower is damn big for something made almost entirely out of steel.

On my way up to the peak of the tower, i saw a few drawings that show The Statue of Liberty in Paris, not far from the tower, since i had nothing much to do,i went looking for the statue right after i finished my tour of the tower.

After Statue of Liberty, i traveled to the place where the Bastille used to be,which now only a busy roundabout with a tall Monument in the middle of it.

It was really a boring and tiresome day for me, i don't appreciate buildings so much, i am not an architect you know.

Day 9

This is the last day i will be in France,a part of me was sad, and the other part of me was happy because i can go back to watch 2 whole seasons of One Tree Hill at my room.

Anyway, my flight wais not until 8pm, so i need to do something to kill time, then i decided to go and see the other less famous but some say beautiful artistic buildings in Paris, the 1st was Pantheon, it was sure a pretty building, from the outside,unfortunately one need to pay to get inside, but i had enough of museums, so i pass.

Next building was a Palace once upon a time before,but now it is just another building for show.It had a name that was so hard to spell and say as the name of Arnold The Terminator, Conciergerie,there was nothing much to see here. Anyway, enjoy the pix:

after that, i really had enough of paris, and went hunting for food, a really good one, i asked a man earlier on this day, to recommend me a restaurant where i can dine for good french food, but he answered me ' you can go to any of the restaurant, all offer french food'. Damn, why i didn't thought of that myself, really dumb answer. At the end, i had my last meal in France at one their own fast food outlet, it wasn't disappointing, at least it had a different taste than McD and KFC.

My final stop was the airport. Finally going back to Germany. I really had spent a lot at France, and i am broke right now, need to stay quite and eat instant noodle everyday from now onwards.

France - Day 4 till Day 6

This was a disastrous day, i went to buy the Youth Rail Pass, so i can get discounts for the train tickets, but to my surprise to know that i need to buy them in advance (plus one of my friend said i went to the wrong station to buy it). But anyway, i need to buy the train tickets fast, so since i cant get a Youth Rail Pass,i need to make plan B, just forget about my trip to Biarritz, the famous beach for muscular surfers like me ;-) and go straight to Cannes, i was a bit disappointed, but i am still young and there is alwaiz next summer, hehe.

Since biarritz is out of the picture, and i booked the hotel in Cannes only for the next day, i decided to spent the day at the Museum of Louvre or Musee de Louvre, whatever that means.

I watched Da Vinci Code, so i went to seek for the Rose Line, to my disappointment, i didn't found the line,damn it, and then i went looking for the upside down glass pyramid on the ground, again, it wasn't visible, then i got in the museum, and found the pyramid in it, it seems that from above one can only see the roundabout, which under it is the pyramid. Unlucky for me, the pyramid was under some maintenance, i felt really cursed that day.

After that, i went exploring the museum, there were some really cool sculptures there. It gave me the feeling of weird and funny. This explains everything about Europe.

The Museum closes early that day, and i visited it late, so had very little time and a lot of grounds more to cover, but my main objective was to see the painting of Monalisa. I was so excited thinking about the idea of having the chance to see Leonardo Da Vinci's greatest work. But after standing in front to the artwork, it didn't felt that great after all, i am an engineering student not an art student. Plus, it is smaller that i imagined, too small i think.

After the museum, i went to the train station and slept my way to Cannes in the Mediterranean side of France, yuhuu.

Cannes, this is a play ground for the rich and famous. It is truly a great place if you are planning to just get away from the hectic life you have in a city. The beach, the sun, and of course the chicks.

Though i really like Cannes, but there are not much place of interest here, but there was one that caught my attention, the fort which held the Man in The Iron Mask, Fort Royal, cool huh.

It took only about 20 minutes ride on the boat to get to the island where the fort stood. But before i got on the boat, i had my lunch at an Indian Restaurant, i ate so much, that i could hardly breath.

Nothing much to see at the Fort, the Man In the Iron Mask was already dead (i knew that). But i did found a few cannon which i could ride on, i looked really manly in this pix, don't i? ;-)

Day 6

Nice ('Nice' is a name of a place) is just an hour trip on train from Cannes, so i went there to look for more beaches and chicks, and you bet i found what i was looking for. The beach is blue, the coast is full of stones instead of sand and the chicks were topless, hahaha. Well, for reason of avoiding explicitness in my blog, i have made my mind not to expose any explicit images.

That's all,i spent the whole day at the beach until i was bored, then i went shopping for t-shirts, i was running out of clean and good smelling cloths. Got some, then i took the train back to Cannes.

During the night i went walking at the beach of Cannes, it was really romantic, the moon was bright,couples were making out,it was a perfect night, until i moved my head looking at my male friend, damn, what was i thinking going to Cannes with a guy instead of my girlfriend. Something is wrong with the universe.

France - Day 1 till Day 3

Well, some of you may know and may not know that i was in france last week. I visited Paris,Cannes and Nice. The trip was actually cut short to three destinations instead of 4 planned (5 if we had more time), mostly because lack of planning and knowledge of how things work there. But it was fun and worth it. For you guys who haven't been to france, or any one of the three destinations i went to in France, read on, as i share with you pix and the story behind them.

The trip lasted for 9 days,between 24th August and 1st September,including the day i arrived at Paris. The first day i arrive, i did nothing, just planned to get to know where is the hotel i booked and what are the nearest good and cheap food i can get.

Day Two

The party began on day two, as i and my friend went to Disneyland Paris, the ticket was really costly, 96� for access to two parks for two days.

Initially i asked myself,who needs two days to visit two parks, but it all came clear when i got in the park.

The park was anything but small, and can you see the amount of people there?? yeah, there are thousands at any one time, and just imagine if all of them queued up to play the roller coaster or to take a train tour around the park. It was hell behind that Castle my friend, there are 30+ place of interest at the park, and i had to queue for 30 minutes on half of them, my leg was crying and my socks was soak in sweat. The best part was, there are two parks!!! Take my advice and don't tell your children about Disneyland, you would regret it.

The fun began, at least for me, at 7.30pm, when the parade starts, but you need to 'reserve' the place 1 hour earlier,if you want to get a good look of the hot chicks impersonating the Disneyland characters (i am not a pervert okay, i was tired!). Unfortunately, i have no photos of the chicks as they were too beautiful and my nose was bleeding like hell ;-)

At 10.30 pm, the light show began and as usual, no show is a show without fireworks, again, no photos of fireworks cause i didn't have a tripod, the pix were horrible. Disappointed, i went back straight after the show ended.

Day Three

I went to the Disney Studio Park, and it was much more suitable for a muscular 21 years old guy like me.

I rode another crazy roller coaster here, damn i hate those thing, need to know who invented them, wanna kick his/her ass big time.

Anyway, i got in an Armageddon studio, you really need to get in this one, you feel like you are in the movie, but in a space station under attack from small idiot meteorites. It was really realistic!!

At the end, i did had fun in Disneyland Paris, though some may say it is only for kids, but there are a few things that adults can enjoy too.

My day two ended with being stuck in the middle of Paris, half way from my hotel because the train had finished it's run for the day, just great. but i did manage to get some pictures of Arc de Triomphe. Cool....and Cold, damn you Paris.
