Have you ever wanted to synchronize your bookmarks between multiple web browsers or simply between multiple computers, but don't know how. Then you might wanna read this, a review about a tiny software called Bookmarkbase. I have been given the opportunity to test Bookmarkbase, and i have to say, it is pretty simple to use, no brainer at all. With just a few clicks, i am done importing my bookmarks and exporting them to other web browsers that i use. I was suppose to write about this like, a week ago, but with all the problems that is going on with my blog, i have to postpone it. Anyway, back to the review. The developers of Bookmarkbase was kind enough to provide me with a full version of their software for me to test. At first sight, the user interface is really straight forward and there are no complicated buttons and settings. All i need to do is, launch the application and start importing my bookmarks from Firefox (my main web browser) and with a single click, i was able to export the bookmarks to Internet Explorer. Bookmarkbase currently supports web browser as below: 1. Firefox 2. Opera 3. Internet Explorer 4. Maxthon 5. Seamonkey 6. K-meleon though the list is short, but the Bookmarkbase developers are planning to make the application compatible with other web browsers such as Flock and Netscape. Features URL Validation Although Bookmarkbase is relatively a small application, but it has some useful features when it comes to managing your bookmarks. First of all, the one that i like the most, the URL validation feature. With this feature, you could check the validity of all your bookmarks with just a single click. A validated bookmark will have a green sphere at the end of it, yellow indicates that the bookmark hasn't been validated yet and red, well, the bookmarks is invalid, i.e the URL is either unreachable or the website is dead. Manageable Bookmarkbase allows you, after importing your bookmarks, to manage them before you export them to another web browser. With the build in search ability, you can trace the bookmarks that you are looking for without going through one by one. Other than that, you may also edit them, change the name, delete unwanted or invalid bookmarks or add descriptions. Others Since it is tiny, it is also portable, which adds more points to it's value. Other than that, your bookmarks are encryted, so you can rest assured your important bookmarks aren't laying around for someone else to steal it. Cons Well, not much actually, other than the price, which i personally think is a bit costly. But, if you are a person which really rely on your bookmarks and you really need to synchronize it to all your work spaces, than i really recommend you getting this application, it will surely save you a lot of your precious time.
